We are very excited to introduce "The 5 Towns Shidduch Club" (5townsSC), which is a joint effort of three "5 Towns" shuls (Young Israel Lawrence Cedarhurst, Beth Shalom and Young Israel of Woodmere) to address a critical need in our community for singles to meet their "basherts".

This club was formed in July 2005 by the sisterhoods of these shuls, and its members are very committed to making this a very successful venture. We are pleased to report that we are already off to a great start with a wonderful team of dedicated women devoting much of their time, energy and resources to the program.

What makes our group so unique is that we are a diverse group, and as such we are open to helping all Jews, regardless of age and religious background. Whether you’re a “Machmir” orthodox Jew or a very modern secular Jew, we are committed to finding the right match for you.

One of our goals is to have monthly “shidduch meetings,” in which new singles are presented by women who know them and who can personally vouch for them . The new names along with bios and pictures are uploaded to our PRIVATE and RESTRICTED database where, with the help of technology and a little match making skills, singles are introduced to one another.

We are also planning singles events in which individuals with similar backgrounds will have the opportunity to meet in a fun, relaxed yet structured environment. Each event will target a specific age range and religious background.

We urge anyone reading this to fill out an application, and once approved (sorry we have to screen everyone) you will be added to our growing database, and we will make it our business to help you meet the man/woman of your dreams.
